CLARK and POUGNAUD were both born and raised in France.
CLARK comes from a line of photographers.
POUGNAUD was strongly influenced by her grandmothers, both painters.
In the 90’s they became partners.
CLARK takes pictures,
POUGNAUD builds miniature sets in which the models take place.
CLARK’s north american roots, and the 5 years period POUGNAUD spent in the US, naturally had an effect upon their work.
In 2000 they received an award by HP foundation which was followed by an exhibition at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris.
In 2006 they won the HSBC Photography award.
They produce a dozen photographs each year, inspired by their environment and the people they meet.
Slow art and a french savoir vivre are their moto.
